Cancer Screenings
A breakthrough in precision medicine, Hoag can detect the presence of more than 50 types of cancers with 99.5% specificity through a single blood test. Adults with an elevated risk of cancer, such as those age 50 or older, or individuals with a family history of cancer, are ideal candidates for this voluntary benefit. Patients will receive a comprehensive report and extended time with their Hoag physician to review screening results, and can utilize the insights from their screening to inform a personalized care plan. Regular screening increases the chances of detecting certain cancers early, before cancer has a chance to spread.
Cardiovascular Health Screenings
Hoag uses advanced technology to examine the structure and function of a person’s heart. Screenings can evaluate the thickness of the heart’s walls, its valves, arteries and blood vessels to determine heart health. Depending on the medical history of the patient, a Hoag physician may recommend one, some or all of the following cardiovascular screenings: a resting echocardiogram, stress echocardiogram, carotid intima-media thickness test (CIMT), or a brief sweep of the abdominal aorta.
Health Coaching and Exercise Physiology
Our exercise physiologists, Wray Watkins and Mat Ross, specialize in Kinesiology and are licensed by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). They are trained to work with our primary care physicians to provide Hoag patients with one-to-one coaching and support in the areas of nutrition, functional fitness, and lifestyle guidance. Patients will have an intake meeting, establish goals, and create a routine with their exercise physiologist. Then, they can return at their convenience to use the onsite gym and check-in with their care team for additional support and maintenance sessions at our Newport Beach state-of-the-art facility.
Flu Shot Clinics
Hoag Corporate Health offers flu shot clinics in a variety of ways. We can come to your office, or designate appointment times at our facilities throughout Orange County. Flu shot clinics are a proven way to protect your workforce from a serious disease, while protecting your bottom line from lost productivity. Given the state of the pandemic and reduced population immunity due to lack of flu virus activity since March 2020, the CDC predicts future flu seasons could be earlier and more severe than past seasons. It is also important to note that the past has shown that those who get the flu vaccine have less hospitalizations and complications from the flu compared to those who have not received the flu vaccine.
Mobile Mammography
Hoag Corporate Health offers a convenient way for women in Orange County to receive mammograms with our digital mobile mammography services. Hoag uses FDA approved and ACR certified providers to facilitate screenings. Whether you want to host a single event at your worksite, or use our mobile mammography services on an ongoing basis, Hoag will work with you to develop a plan and schedule that accommodates your needs. According to the Susan G. Komen foundation, 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Women are an important part of the workforce; allow us the privilege of helping you support your female employees with this important, preventative screening.
